Our Story

The M62 charity was founded in memory of the victims of the M62 coach bombing of 4th February 1974 which tragically claimed the lives of 12 people, nine soldiers and three civilians and injured 32 people including members of our own families.

The M62 charity exists to provide vital support to veterans and their families, with a strong focus on health, well being and community connection.

We aim to prevent social isolation by offering signposting and referral services, guidance with benefits forms and form completion and practical help for bereaved families.

Through regular breakfast clubs, charity events and targeted support initiatives, we create opportunities for camaraderie, mutual assistance  and access to essential services.

We also work closely to the Oldham fusiliers association SSAFA and other partner organisations to secure donations, resources and specialist help to help further our mission of honouring and supporting those who have served, as well as families affected by loss.

By working with external agencies, community networks, and veteran support organisations, we ensure a collaborative approach to deliver meaningful, lasting impact for those we serve.
